The Northern Territory Chamber of Commerce Industry Councils were created over 30 years ago to specifically, and independently, represent key sectors within the growing Territory economy.

Since their formation, our Council structure has grown substantially and now represents the International Business, Manufacturing, Maritime and Defence sectors, all of which will be major contributors to the Northern Territory economy for many years to come.

The vision of our Councils is the enhance the opportunities and productivity of business that contribute to these sectors through advocacy, representation, communication and direct business assistance.

With a strong focus on Government, project proponents and international relationships, we look to consult and collaborate with key stakeholders, facilitate strategic connectivity with policy makers, project consultants and promote professional standards and practices within our membership organisations.

Guided by our executive committees, we continually gather intelligence to ensure we accurately represent industry capability, capacity and technical understanding required to participate in complex projects.

In a maturing industrial market, the imperatives for local business must change from a closed view of their opportunities to a much broader one that embraces partnerships, investment in itself for future assets and skills development.

As an industry led representative body, our member elected executive committees live and breathe their sectors every day, they donate their time and expertise for the benefit of the broader industry sectors they represent and the overall benefit of the Northern Territory. As a collective, we act with one voice, and act effectively as a lobby and reference group for Government, industry and the community.
