Are you looking for a role that supports local business, connects industry and helps drive the Northern Territory economy?

Here it is – the opportunity you’ve been looking for! We are recruiting for the position of Regional Manager for the Chamber of Commerce NT and Industry Capability Network NT based in the Katherine and Big Rivers Region.

This position is a key support and driver for businesses in the region in areas such as advocacy, connection and development.

Based in our Katherine Office and working autonomously, you will be supported and part of a larger team across the Territory. There is some travel involved, particularly in serving the surrounding areas in Mataranka & Pine Creek.

A week in this position will vary. The Chamber runs regular networking events that need to be organised and promoted including our premium networking event Business at Sunsets which occurs every two months. We hold regular Women in Business Luncheons and play a proud part in supporting the local industry by running the Business Excellence Awards & the Christmas in Katherine shop local campaign each year. But it’s not just about events. We are a connection between major projects, members of Parliament, Government bodies and business which will include facilitating round tables, industry engagement and informational sessions. This role also provides support to and takes guidance from our member-based Executive Committee.

The ICN NT component of the role includes regularly engaging and supporting procurement within the Defence, Mining, Gas, Agriculture, Renewables and Government sectors, with more than $6bn in opportunities facilitated in FY23. ICN’s key responsibility is interfacing and profiling local businesses against work opportunities and advocating for the local provision of goods and services. As a data-driven organisation, we regularly consult with projects at all stages along their project timeline, conducting early supply chain mapping, event management services, and project procurement support. The role will engage key regional stakeholders and support ICN's regional strategic development.

The person best suited for this role must have a passion for communication, both written and in the social media arena. As they say “If you didn’t get a photo for social media, did it really even happen!” We can support the learning of skills for social media but the drive to communicate with members and key stakeholders is essential.

We believe this is a unique opportunity for the right person who enjoys face-to-face engagement, networking and the planning of events, mapping opportunities through the ICN portal for local business and being part of projects and opportunities to strategically drive economic outcomes for the Big Rivers Region.

We believe that this position is also an opportunity for career development and opportunity. Working autonomously in the region you will the chance to be involved in a wide variety of projects and meetings while connecting and being involved with Chamber and ICN NT matters on an NT-wide basis.
