CHAMBER NT BUSINESS NEWS
18 May 2026
Chamber NT is proud to recognise Jawoyn Association Aboriginal Corporation and its ongoing contribution to communities across the Northern Territory.
For more than 30 years, Jawoyn has remained committed to the vision of its Elders - bringing the Jawoyn people together, caring for country, and supporting long-term economic independence and community development.
Today, Jawoyn has grown into one of the Territory’s leading Indigenous organisations, supporting communities across the Top End through tourism, hospitality, land management, construction and community development. The organisation continues to work towards improving the cultural, social and economic wellbeing of the Jawoyn people while maintaining a strong connection to country.
With approximately 270 employees and around 60% Aboriginal employment, Jawoyn plays an important role in creating local jobs, supporting communities and building long-term opportunities across the region.
A significant achievement for the organisation is that approximately 73% of its profit is now generated through its own business operations, reflecting a strong commitment to sustainability, self-determination and Indigenous-led economic development.
Through enterprises including Nitmiluk Tours, Cicada Lodge and operations across Nitmiluk and Leliyn (Edith Falls), Jawoyn continues to showcase the unique culture, landscapes and stories of the Katherine region to visitors from across Australia and beyond.
Chamber NT also acknowledges CEO Darrin and the wider Jawoyn team for their ongoing contribution to the Territory community and economy.
